VOLLEYBALL COACHING STAFF
Kelsa Walker is entering her 8th season as Head Coach for the BHS Volleyball Team. Coach Walker received her Bachelor’s Degree from Delta State University and her Master’s Degree from MS Valley State University. She has an overall record of 185-43 win/loss record as the BHS VB Head Coach. Under Walker’s leadership, BHS Volleyball won Back to Back State Championships in the 2017-2018 season and 2018-2019 season and won the 2020-2021 South State Championship. Her BHS Volleyball teams have won four consecutive Class 6A Region 6 Championships. Coach Walker was selected as the 2017-2018 Clarion Ledger Volleyball Coach of the Year and Finalist for the Mississippi Coach of the Year. She was the 2018-2019 National Federation of High Schools Mississippi Volleyball Coach of the Year as well as a MAC Mississippi South All-Star Coach. Coach Walker serves on the MAC Volleyball Committee and SMAC Committee. She is married to Stephen Walker and has four children, Keeley, Wesley, Dysart and Graydon.
JV Head and Varsity Assistant Coach
Karley Nichols is a first year coach who recently graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and is attending Belhaven University working on her education degree. Coach Nichols played Division 1 softball during her time at USM and was named 2nd Team All Conference in 2019.
BMS Head and Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Obadiah Montgomery is a native of Gulfport, MS. Montgomery comes to the Brandon family with many years of volleyball experience as a player and coach. She attended the prestigious Tougaloo College where she recently earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics with an emphasis in Business Administration. Coach O was a dual sport athlete at Tougaloo playing volleyball and basketball. Coach O has been named to All Tournament Teams, Tournament MVP, and All Conference while playing at Tougaloo. She worked as an undergrad assistant her final academic year and volunteered at a Gulfport Middle School. Montgomery is entering her 1st year of coaching as the BMS Head Coach and BHS Varsity Assistant Volleyball Coach at Brandon.
Brandon Middle School Assistant Coach
Kristy Halle is entering her 3rd season as Assistant Coach for the BMS Volleyball Team. She is entering her 19th year of teaching at Brandon Middle School. Coach Halle served as BHS Head Volleyball Coach from 2011-2014. Coach Halle graduated from Brandon High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Mississippi State University. Coach Halle serves as the BMS Eligibility coordinator. She is married to Kevin Halle and has one daughter Marla Kate.
