Kelsa Walker

Head Coach

Kelsa Walker is entering her 9th season as Head Coach for the BHS Volleyball Team.  Coach Walker received her Bachelor’s Degree from Delta State University and her Master’s Degree from MS Valley State University.  She has an overall record of 210-50 win/loss as the BHS VB Head Coach.  Under Walker’s leadership, BHS Volleyball won Back to Back State Championships in the 2017 and 2018 season.  Her team added another State Championship in the 2021 season.  In 2018, 2020, and 2021, the Lady Bulldogs won the South State Championship along with 5 consecutive Region Championships.  Coach Walker was selected as the 2017-2018 Clarion Ledger Volleyball Coach of the Year and Finalist for the Mississippi Coach of the Year.  She was the 2018-2019 National Federation of High Schools Mississippi Volleyball Coach of the Year as well as the Mississippi Association of Coaches Coach of the Year in 2021-2022.  Coach Walker was selected as the MAC South All-Star Coach in 2018 and 2022.  She serves on the MAC Volleyball Committee, Little 6 Committee, and the SMAC Committee.  She is married to Stephen Walker and has four children Keeley Card (Hunter), Wesley, Dysart and Graydon.  

Laine Marler

Asst. Varsity/JV Head Coach

Laine Marler is entering her 1st season as the Assistant Coach for the  BHS Varsity team and the BHS JV Volleyball team Head Coach.   Coach Marler received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Mississippi in May 2022. She was a member of the first Brandon Middle School Volleyball team, a member of the  Brandon High School Volleyball Team all 4 years of high school, and member of the Brandon High School Varsity tennis team for six years.  She was chosen as the very first Mississippi Volleyball All-Star player from Brandon High School along with being chosen as a Tennis All-Star. Coach Marler was also a part of the first Class 6A Region 6 State Championship team at BHS where she was the starting Libero. She was chosen as an all Region player all four years of high school and was selected as the Clarion Ledger Player of the Week twice.  

Olivia Garrett

Asst. Varsity/Middle School Head Coach

Olivia Garrett is entering her 1st year of coaching with the Brandon Bulldogs as the BMS Head Coach and BHS Varsity assistant coach. She graduated with her Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and her Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Mississippi College. While in college, she was also the Assistant Coach for Madison-Ridgeland Academy Volleyball for 2 seasons. She is a graduate of Brandon High School and was on the first BMS Volleyball team.  Coach Olivia Garrett continues her volleyball career playing on a  local beach volleyball coed team.
