Girls Soccer Coaching Staff
Jeremy Shortt begins his second season as Head Coach for Girls Soccer. Jeremy Short is a native of Arima, Trinidad, Jeremy played on the U15 to U23 Youth National teams of Trinidad and Tobago. While in Trinidad, he played on the semi- professional team “Superstar Rangers” where he was a starting forward and leading scorer in 1990-1991. Jeremy then came to the United States in 1995 and continued his soccer career at Belhaven College until 1999. While earning his undergraduate degree from Belhaven, he was a standout and named NAIA All-American in 1997. Shortly thereafter, Jeremy played with the Jackson Chargers semi-professional team and led 2nd in the league with goals. He served as the head women’s coach at St Joseph’s High School for 8 years and led the team to their first state title. He was also the head coach for the MRA high school soccer teams and coached the state champion women’s team in 2012. Jeremy currently holds his USSF “B” License, is a head coach for 2 teams with the Mississippi Rush (formerly Mississippi Fire) where he is also the boy's director, and is the director of the Northwest Athletic Association soccer program.
Joshua Furby is in his 4th season with the Lady Dogs Soccer Team as an Assistant Coach. He was born and raised in Brandon, and graduated from Brandon High School in 2006. He has a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Delta State University. He is currently teaching 2nd-3rd Grade PE at Stonebridge Elementary.
