Fredrick Barnes
Head Coach
Coach Barnes has been the head of Brandon’s varsity basketball team for seventeen years. Prior to his contributions at Brandon High, he coached a wide variety of sports’ teams in McComb, MS for 5 years. He is a graduate of Alcorn State University where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Barnes is the proud father of Ayana, Shayna, and Braylon Barnes, all who have attended and excelled in Brandon public schools. His eldest, Ayana, will be attending college at Mississippi State University in the fall. Through his leadership, he has produced victorious seasons sixteen years in a row, winning twenty or more games fourteen of said years. Dedicated to maintaining a prosperous program, Coach Barnes is very excited for another great season. Go Dogs!

Chareck Cable
Asst Varsity / Head 9th Grade
Coach Cable is in his fourth year back with the Dogs! He coached in Brandon from 2006-2011. Most recently he has coached at Warren Central & Poplarville High school. While at Poplarville in 2012-13 Coach Cable was named District Coach of the Year. He also lead the Hornets to a 20-10 record in 2015-16 and a eventual second round play-off lost to state runner-up McComb 55-57. This was the hornets first 20 win season in as many years. Coach Cable’s career high school head coaching record is 89-75. Coach Cable played collegiately at Southwest C.C. and Belhaven University. While at Belhaven he was the teams leading scorer and a All- Conference selection in the 1998-99 season.
