Game Summary

Friday night’s game featured the continuation of the oldest rivalry in the Metro area as Brandon took on Clinton. The Bulldog offense exploded for 27 points to gain a crucial victory. The scoring opened up in the first quarter as Brandon jumped out to an early 17-0 lead. A field goal by Mason Walker combined with the first rushing touchdown of Ozzario Smith’s career and a passing connection from Will Rogers to Ladarius Moore allowed Brandon to take a lead they would never look back from. Clinton would strike twice with two rushing TD’s from Caleb Miller but that would be it. Another Walker field goal and Smith touchdown would give the game closure.

Star Performances

The Brandon offense was fueled with amazing performances from a couple of players. In a team effort, the star making effort from Ozzario Smith and the consistency from Will Rogers shone. Rogers passed for 195 yards and a touchdown leading the offense with a solid 65% completion percentage. Smith rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns accounting for almost a third of the offense. On the defensive side of the ball, Kazarius Bowie was unstoppable coming up with 12 tackles including a sack. Look for these players and more to continue to put in quality results for the Bulldogs.

What’s Next for the teams?

For Clinton, they fall to 1-2. Looking to bounce back after a rough start, they will host Northwest Rankin who is reeling after a third straight loss. The Bulldogs will look to bolster their record as they return home to face the 2-1 Warren Central Vikings.
