Daniel Best
Head Coach
Daniel Best is entering his tenth year of coaching. From 2009-2012, he was the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at St. Patrick Catholic High School. While at St. Patrick, the Irish advanced to the second round of the playoffs for three consecutive years. Coach Best then joined the staff at Biloxi, where he served as the Head Junior High Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach from 2013-2015. Under Best’s leadership, the Indians clinched the 2015 District Four Championship and finished the season 11-1. He was in Monroe, Louisiana from 2015-2016, where he was the Varsity Pitching Coach for the Neville Tigers. During his time at Neville, the Tigers advanced to the second round of the playoffs. Coach Best joined Vancleave High School as the pitching coach during the 2017 season. The Vancleave Bulldogs placed second in district and lost in the first round of the MHSAA Playoffs. Coach Best was named Head Coach at Vancleave High School in the summer of 2017. During his first year as head coach, he led the Vancleave Bulldogs to the school’s first ever MHSAA Class 4A State Championship. The Vancleave Bulldogs were Region 8-4A Champions, posted a 29-7 record, and were 10-0 in the playoffs.
